Empowerment through the Arts - Personal/Professional Development... Kevin McCormick at Hart House, University of Toronto and Ryerson University

Welcome to this unique and popular aspect of the Actors Tutorial.

"It has long become a reality and a fact that the arts, all the arts, can inspire ones life, reveal ones journey, renew ones spirit, enlighten, entertain, enrich and motivate all of us to live richer and more creative happy and healthier lives.
Encountering an art form in particular that of the actor can awaken an individual to new levels of awareness, and the creative spirit activated by the art can be used and channeled into any number of professions. I have had the privilege of working with thousands of Artists over the years and have also had numerous opportunities to work with non artists who wish to explore art as a vehicle for personal development and career enhancement. This has brought me in contact through private coaching and workshops with lawyers, doctors, corporate business professionals, care givers, therapists, educators, and executive leaders, amongst others.
It is a very special event to witness the liberation of another human being and to see that liberation alter another's life. I have seen this over and over in a class room while working with others with the art of the actor. It is always an inspiration to witness someone find themselves and empower what they give to the world through that awakening they have found. I have witnessed with great feeling the emotional breakthroughs and personal realizations triggered from this art form in others. There is nothing more rewarding then to see an individual find the gift of their self and to then apply that power and sense of self to their individual careers. If I had my way, all the arts would be a mandatory and important ingredient within all levels of education for all people"
